CREATIVE WRITING CALL-OUT

People of Wigan!! We are producing a paperback book containing poetry and creative writing penned about thoughts, feelings and experiences from the Covid-19 lockdown period and we want you to be involved.

You don’t need to have any experience of creative writing.  In terms of the content of your work, you can focus on your household, your street or Wigan as a town. You can write about The UK in general. You might want to write about something you read about that is happening overseas, it’s up to you. As long as what you write is from the heart, it’ll be great.

The idea of this book is to create something that we can all have to look back on as a reminder of both how difficult things were and how we managed to overcome them in different ways. At times like this we can sometimes feel helpless to affect change so in some tiny way, this is an opportunity to put your thoughts down forever for the world to read.

How Do I Get Involved?

Please submit work via the button below.

Submissions need to be with us by 31st May. Once all the submissions are in we will work through them and include as many as we possibly can. Please note that we may not be able to include every submission but those who are not included will be posted on our social media outlets as a thank you for your time and effort.

Where Will The Book Be Available To Buy?

The book will be available to buy online from Amazon. All proceeds from sales of the book will be used to support the work we do at The Old Courts. As a not-for-profit organisation it’s crucial that we do everything we can to enable us to continue the community work we do.

Your time and creativity will help us to do that so get yourself involved, get your kids involved, get your relatives involved, anyone can be a part of this project.
