Redemption of the Spoken Work

Saturday night in the Bailiff saw possibly the most diverse fusion in one room that we have seen in Wigan for a long time, and whilst celebrating Record store day 2016 and all things vinyl we managed to "Word Up" to a full crowd.

Spoken Word and Poetry were delivered by Shaun Fallows, John Togher and George Melling to an improvised medley composed by local musicians Stu Robinson, Andy McKay and Waz who tuned their instruments and set off on a new musical ensemble in front of visuals of Wigan's indie bygone times.

The music continued with a Solo set from Rik Jones and his raspy renditions of the Brit Pop Era, leading to a Impromptu stage invasion from the Improvmassiv helping the vibe of the night stay truly in the experimental.

The Artistic conglomeration continued with the event being illustrated live by local Artist Andrew Hogg who set-up in the lounge with illustrated water colour splendour which had a Jamaican theme leading into the late night entertainment from King Cosmic and his authentic reggae sound system which laid down songs from decades of sounds from the land of wood and water all played from a personal collection of original vinyl.
