Opportunity! eBay for Change Programme: eBay have used their small business expertise to design a programme to support existing social enterprises grow their business on eBay’s marketplace and are moving towards the ultimate ambition of becoming the go to destination for social enterprise ecommerce! Is it for me? Firstly, businesses should fit within eBay’s existing categories - this is outlined in the application form but for ease thought would mention here: Home & Garden (quite a bit sits in here, including food & household essentials but worth noting that alcohol doesn’t perform well on the platform) Electronics Fashion Sports & Leisure Health & Beauty Toys What is it? An in-depth package of support that will help you every step of the way, from learning the basics through to scaling your business, combined with a number of discounted fees and promotions. Package of support details: · Getting noticed: o We know that the most impactful thing we can do is supporting visibility of social enterprises and therefore eBay will be funding marketing and PR activity to let customers know about the new programme and to drive them to eBay to buy. This will be supported by a dedicated hub on where they can find out more information about the programme and begin their shopping journey. · 121 Specialist support: o Getting started on eBay: during this time you’ll work through a step by step onboarding plan with 1:1 support, weekly calls and webinars. o Growing your business: continued 1:1 support from an eBay growth advisor to help you navigate and use the platform to scale your business. o Ongoing day to day support: 12 months, free eBay concierge service. Premium service offering sales support with minimal wait times · Discounted fees and promotions: o Free Anchor store package for 12 months - worth £1,275 - This includes a free shop front which can be customised to tell your brand story. o No final valuation fees for 12 months - average fee is around 10% of the price of each item so this will make a significant difference to your profit margin o Free eBay packaging for 6 months - worth £120 o Discounted shipping - worth up to £400 o Fulfilment support - discounted support on a UK based fulfilment partner. All those on the programme are eligible for this part of the package but will be particularly important for businesses based outside of the UK Is it free? There is no cost for social enterprises to take part in the programme but to ensure that you’re able to take full advantage of the programme there is a time commitment ask of 7 hours a week, this covers the training support as well as putting into practice everything you’ve learnt.
