VOLUNTEER Q&A WITH HAYA
We caught up with Haya, one of our volunteer photographers, to see what she had to say about volunteering here at The Old Courts. What do you like about the Old Courts? What I love about the Old Courts is the community and how they express different kind of art in each area. I love my music and every artist they bring to perform always smashes it. The community of people are so friendly and lovely. It makes a great and safe environment to be in. Why do you volunteer? I volunteer because I love doing music photography as I would love to do it as a job and make a career out of it one day. The Old Courts is a great place for me to practise as they allow me and we have a trusting relationship. What upcoming show at The Old Courts would recommend? I would recommend people to go watch the music events the Old Courts have as they always are fun and worth your money. Do you have a favourite Old Courts memory? My favourite Old Courts memory is going to photograph shows at the Old Courts especially A.K.A Noel Gallagher because the crowd was so energised and the artists were amazing. It lead to amazing memories and pictures. Just a few of Haya's fantastic photos from the AKA Noel Gallagher gig. What would you say to anyone considering volunteering at The Old Courts? I would say if anybody is considering to volunteer, then 100 percent do it as it's so fun, and you learn new skills and you get to be more independent. People are friendly and you can always ask for help. Its a great experience. What’s a typical day/evening volunteering at The Old Courts? When I volunteer, i volunteer to photograph music shows which are usually at night starting at 7:30 to around 11:30/12am. The environment is always amazing as people are always having fun, bar tenders ,staff, security are always friendly. Everyone is there for one reason and that is for the show so you can instantly make friends. Are you interested in volunteering with us? You can sign up to find out more here.
