‘Neil Jarvis is a singer/songwriter based in Wigan, Greater Manchester. Perhaps best known as being in the Manchester band Sprinters who are signed to Madrid’s Meritorio Records, Sprinters have released three records with their most recent being ‘Struck Gold’ at the end of 2019. The band have received critical acclaim from the likes of Clash Magazine, The Skinny, Gold Flake Paint and played shows across the UK supporting bands such as The Monochrome Set, La Luz, Pip Blom and Chastity Belt. Before starting Sprinters, Neil played solo under his own name. And released two albums,2012’s ‘Weekends’ and 2014’s ‘Halloween Summer’ and was showcased by BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio. Finding himself isolated at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Neil returned to his solo project and wrote the new album ‘Get the Band Back Together’ in lockdown. The album was released via On The Grind in summer 2021, seeing the first solo material he has produced since 2014.

‘Jarvis’s understated approach and dreamlike atmospherics make this a sleeper hit in more ways than one.’ – Beats to the Bar

‘Get The Back Band Together takes Jarvis’ earlier tried and true method of recording/writing songs, but adds a sense of maturity and poignancy that sets this collection of songs apart from both Sprinters and his earlier work. -Revolution Rock

Joining Neil in the Holding Cell, we’re pleased to welcome back Wigan based ambient guitarist/musician Sun Curves! His set at our Wigan Arts Festival ‘Overload’ night back in 2019 was superb and a festival highlight…and here’s another chance for a listen!
