December 6th saw Wigan poet Eva Curless compete in Manchester for a place in the National Slam Final at the Royal Albert Hall. Whoop! 19 year old Eva won two qualifying heats at ThePaperCut before heading over to 3MinuteTheatre to spit some verse, I mean to recite heartfelt and cutting issue-based poetry. The former St. John Rigby student was a high-scoring runner-up in the poetry competition and represented Wigan's vibrant poetry scene as a true rising star!
ThePaperCut is a night of comedy and spoken word which runs the last Saturday of every month. Wigan's Poetry Open Mic runs the 2nd Thursday of the month. Both events run in The Bailiffs Bar. You're welcome.
