Wigan Arts Festival: ‘Out and About’ outdoor event

Cancelled due to Severe weather warnings

Due to the Met Office Severe weather warning and flood warnings for the weekend, and in the interest of safety for artists, staff and the public, The Old Courts have been forced to cancel the Out and About outdoor event at Mesnes Field on Saturday 7 August. We will be liaising with the artists and bands to look at all options for bringing back the event in the future.

Organising our first large outdoor event since the pandemic hit was something the team was excited about as we felt there was light at the end of the tunnel and hope for everyone in the arts sector. We were looking forward to seeing audiences enjoying live events again. The organising of the event itself has been a huge undertaking for the team and has been in planning for several months. We are all hugely disappointed that we have had to make the decision to cancel.

Ticket holders:

• Are entitled to a full refund to the original card used to purchase the tickets. This will be done automatically via our ticket provider Quaytickets. Refunds can take up to 5 working days and will be process automatically.
• Will be offered priority booking should we be in a position to reschedule the event in the future.

Artists & Venders:

• We are liaising with the artists, bands and venders involved in this event to look at all options for a future event.
