The takeover is a real mixed bag, combining fashion, vintage, vinyl records from Wigan’s Static Records, a hair station led by The Flowers Shadow plus an art sale from artists who are part of The Old Courts artist residency, in collaboration with TERM Art Classes, as well as arts and ceramics from Everyday. Visitors can also partake in sewing demos and compete in a light-hearted Darts competition, where the winner will see their name engraved on an iconic prized spade.

Paul Dolman, owner of Static Records, based at The Old Courts, will be providing the soundtrack to the afternoon with an eclectic mix of vinyl on the decks, which will also be available to purchase. Alongside this, Paul will be in the role of referee during the much-loved darts competition. He commented “The shovel does not lie. Static Records annual darts competition will take place at Tallula Takeover again this year. Practice all you want…it wont help.”

The event has always been a high-spirited but casual affair, where everyone is welcome to get involved. Taking place in early December, before the Christmas rush of events begins but festive enough to get visitors in the spirit.

Adele Atherton, the creative mind behind Tallula Vintage said “Come indulge your passion for fashion with local, sustainable fabulousness. Cocktails, demos, dancing, darts ! Free fabric learn to make your own frock! What’s not to love.”

The event is free entry and runs on Sunday 7th December between 11am and 3pm. The entrance to the event can be found on King St West at The Old Courts’ Bailiff Bar.
