COVID-19 COMMUNITY HELP

Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020, our team, together with hundreds of volunteers have been working round the clock to do what we can to help those in need.

We’ve been lucky to work in collaboration with some wonderful organisations including: Fur Clemt, Wigan Council, Greater Manchester Combined Authority and Wigan Eats.

Due to the huge success of our chat phone lines we have committed to keeping this running for our residents and we need help! Can you commit to ringing one person a week for a friendly chat? If so, we want to hear from you! If you’d like to volunteer please sign up here:

WHAT HAVE WE BEEN UPTO SINCE MARCH?

Work has included providing packed lunches to people struggling to provide food for their children, welfare checks on vulnerable people, delivering food parcels, creative packs and musical instruments to homes to provide nourishment and creative stimulation. We have also set up a phone line for isolated residents to maintain human contact with people willing to listen and understand their situation.
