Local Facilitator

The Local Facilitator role will support the development of ‘Epic Fail’, a show made by artist Kid Carpet and Y5 children in a local school in Wigan. This is an open call out to people based in the Wigan borough who are interested in working alongside a wide range of people including lead artist Kid Carpet (Ed Patrick), The Old Courts project staff, engineers, children and young people.

‘Epic Fail’ is one part of Moving Roots, a national touring project which aims to collaborate with local people and artists to explore new ways to co-create live performances and create as many diverse opportunities in areas like Wigan borough. The project champions ways of working closely with local communities to giving people agency to shape projects, be the author of their stories, and make what they want to see in their hometown.

The Local Facilitator may describe themselves as a confident communicator. They will be excellent in establishing and maintaining relationships with The Old Courts project staff, Epic Fail lead artist, and school staff (including Head Teacher, Heads of Years, teachers or Governors). To ensure smooth running of the project, you will be keen to ensure that lines of communication stay open and will be happy to communicate via in-person meetings, phone, email and Zoom/Teams.

Anyone living in Wigan Borough can apply for this opportunity.

Whilst a passion for arts, culture and creativity is necessary for this role, you do not need to have previous experience working in arts and culture to apply.

This is a 8 week freelance contact with the first 4 weeks of activity dates confirmed between April and July.
